it is irresponsible to support someone as powerful as hugo chavez
without knowing all the facts or at least giving the point of view of those who oppose to him. i can't stand people who support something just because it is labeled "so******t revolution"... it doesn't make you seem more of an intellectual... it just makes you look like an idiot!!!! it is a very romantic notion that in real life can not be achieved... does it not worry you that chavez is closing broadcasting stations and even firing scientists? mr. stone as well as the current us goverment should relate with
real people. it so sad that the stardoms from hollywood live in the same world that our politicians. oliver stone and sean penn and any hollywood star don't ahve any idea of the reality of venezuela. they don't know what the real people is going through. theere is no freedom in venezuela. if oliver stone is a venezuelan and he wants to make a movie about the real venezuela and have only one "one" disagrement with chavez, he would never make a movie about the truth that he is living as a venezuelan. if he wants to know exactly what is happening in venezuela and make a movie about the real venzuela, he should talk to the real people. he will probablt does not want to make a movie about the truth because he wants to beleive that so******m is the amswer and chavez is his hero. i am from peru and i am so proud to be an american citizen and i love its history and my incas history too. i work hard everyday to pay for my house and for the future of my children and i don't appreciate these hollywood starts making movies about a dictator. when i was in peru i was staying late to see the oscars and i was so happy to see this group of talented actors and directors. now, i only enjoy some movies and some directors. all these heores from the past are gone. i am more selective before i watch a movie. some coments about mr stone said about chavez, he said that eh
didnt understand why press is against him, butl let me tell you mr stone that in a little period maibe you wont hear anything from the press, not because he is doing well it would be because all press could be closed, another thing you saod its about how chavez has done for the poor people, well we reconize that good things have been done about it but its nothing if you see that over the period of chavez entered 900 billion dollards and you can go to venezuela and realize that you cannt see any major improvement in the venezuelan people lives(poor, average)so ill give you an advice about say things about chavez, first, search information about the real true with friends or something like that and not just from the government because you may be speaking good things about the next hitler for example and i dont think this is good bur your name, hope you read this once because this country isnt going to stand this guy for a long and we hope that when he had fallen you dont say good things about this dictator(yeahh he was elected with votes but itsnt enough for a real democracy) By: jaime on the September 7th, 2009

He's one of the worst things that could have
happened to my country, but then again, Venezuela is full of lazy people who don't care about working, studying and are ok with having a president who provides them with beer and free junk food as long as they congregate to greet him.
By: epso on the September 7th, 2009
He got addicted to Mr. Chavez eternal talking, and
wanted to make him an idol. But that's okay... history is full of people like Oliver Stone (and Chavez) who spend their whole lives doing the wrong thing in a way that would make the future generations think otherwise.

let me tell you that you dont know venezuela and
it isnt land of lazy people you would have to see how early in the mornong people has to wake up to get their job and make their best for a minimal payment thats the true ![]()

i just watched the trailer for the upcoming
film about chavez and i wanted to make a few comments about it: you interviewed kirchners, evo morales and correa, all for them who have been proved to have received money from chavez to finance their presidential campaign. i will watch the movie and hope there are mentions about this. i am from colombia, but my dad has dual citizenship in venezuela and colombia. 18 years ago, when i was 8 years old and in the 3rd grade, the situation in colombia was disastrous, and venezela was one of, if not the most prosperous country in south america. back then 1 dollar was worth more or less 70 bolivars and roughly 700 colombian pesos. 18 years later, the price of the dollars with respect to the colombian pesos has triplicated, but in the case of venezuela, now the dollars is 30 times more expensive which is ridiculous for a country whose economy is based mainly in oil. even more worrisome, more than 50% of the basic products sold in venezuela are from colombia and now chavez is threatening to cut commercial relationships with us. even if they do replace the colombian products with argentinean and brazilian products the prices will go up exponentially due to the fact that colombia is the closes neighbor and transportations costs won’t even compare. how is venezuela supposed to eat? also, i lived in miami for 8 years where i had the chance to meet many venezuelan people who ran away from the disaster that was taking place in the country. you will think that most of this people were “the oligarchy” of venezuela, but you will be mistaken. i know about 5 families, all from the eastern part of venezuela who trough hard work obtained professional degrees and worked for pdvsa, but after chavez nationalized the oil industry, they all lost their job and were forced to move to miami where they clean houses for a living but rather do that than stay in venezuela and see the demise of their country at the hands of chavez. these are just facts of the top of my head, but i will gladly do some more research and send you more facts…. just thought maybe you wanted to hear the other perspective oh, by the way, it is important to mention that my dad voted for chavez in the first presidential elections and now thinks it is the biggest mistake he has made in his life. Dear Mr. Stone,
Your movie on Alexander the Great was good, but
not good enough because you based it on the Greco-Roman literary sources only. Unfortunately, these don't tell the truth. Alexander was a much smarter guy than you and others think. Don't get me wrong. I'm not a Greek with nationalistic sentiments. I'm, in fact, from Iran/Persia. You've my email. Get in touch and I'll tell you how Alexander prevailed at Gaugamela. You have the money and experties to make a movie of the real Battle of Gaugamela that would eclipse everything yourself and others have made about Alexander... By: Farhad on the November 24th, 2008

Thank God that a rowdy, hard drinking, girl chasing, good-timing,
repentant Texan, with a little cash and marginal GPA was around long enough to protect the American people from another fanatic Islamic attack and to enable another moronic, lazy/drunk-eyed film maker to express his dismal and worthless opinion.
